TONY Passos

Professor

IBJJF Certified 4th Degree Black Belt

Professor Tony Passos is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 4th Degree Black Belt under Ricardo de la Riva, and is a respected member of Team Atos Jiu Jitsu and a dedicated coach. He began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in Brazil, learning from champions like Andre Galvao. Although he retired from competition, his passion for teaching is evident. Prof. Tony combines humor with an exceptional work ethic, guiding students in goal setting, training plans, and competition strategies. His teaching style simplifies complex techniques, tailored to individual learning styles.

JEFF GORDON

Professor

IBJJF Certified 3rd Degree Black Belt

Jeff Gordon is a certified IBJJF 3rd Degree Black Belt who received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 from Professor Tony Passos. Jeff is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Kempo Karate, a certified Instructor of Krav Maga, and a Certified U.S. Army Combative Instructor. Jeff brings over 34 years of martial arts experience to his academy, as well as knowledge received from such instructors as Tony Passos, Andre Galvao and many others. While his first passion is teaching and coaching his students, Jeff is also an avid competitor.

Evgeny Mechenov achieved the rank of Certified IBJJF Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt in 2021 under 3rd-degree black belt Jeff Gordon. He was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and holds a B.S. in Education from The National Sports Academy in Sofia. Evgeny boasts an impressive record in amateur MMA with 3 wins and has experience in both amateur and professional boxing, making it to the finals of the Golden Gloves Championship.
